  Chairman’s Message 2019

Dear Centre Members,

 

As I start my second year as Centre Chairman I am pleased to tell you Durham Centre will this year be celebrating our 60th anniversary.  We have arranged a six day rally at Stanhope Show ground with three nights of professional entertainment and two afternoons of children's entertainment rounded off with a children's tea party.  

There will be a river Duck Race where you can buy a duck, the first three will receive cash prizes, a Family Fun Run, Line Dancing, Brass Band, Vintage Car Display, Free Hog Roast for everyone and hopefully Caravan's and Motorhome's to view.

Book early for a great extended weekend of fun and entertainment.

In November we will be holding a joint rally again with North Yorkshire Centre for a spectacular Fire Work and Bonfire rally, our members that attended this rally in 2018 gave reports of a fantastic rally, so to avoid disappointment book up early.  

This year we have a new Vice Chairman in Bernadette Smith who is trying to arrange a new venue for our Dinner Dance where we can take our caravans and our new Rally Secretary, is Dave Wilson.  I hope you will give them both your full support along with the rest of our committee members.

Thanks must go to Karl Davis for preparing this years programme for which I think you will find there is something for everyone.

We have a variety of Holiday and Bank Holidays rallies arranged this year so please support them and book up early.

We have introduced this year a £5.00 deposit when booking all rallies, as marshals last year had problems of members not turning up on rallies but had been catered for.  

I must say thanks and congratulations to our Centre Quiz Team for winning back the Inter Centre quiz trophy from Northumberland Centre.  

Thanks also go to our advertisers, it is with there support this Hand Book can be produced and thanks too for permission from land owners as without them we could not continue to enjoy our favourite pastime.

I would like to thank all the committee members who have stepped down this year, you help and support has been appreciated.

Please continue to support your Centre and remember to re-register with Durham Centre when renewing your Caravan and Motorhome Club Membership.

Ang and Myself look forward to seeing you on the rally field again this year and our kettle will always be on.
